David A. Head, age 44, of Madison passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at University Hospitals in Cleveland. Born March 20, 1968 in Euclid, he was the son of Sandra (Leininger) and David E. Head. He married Debbie Dodge on October 26, 1996. Dave was a confirmed member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Madison. An amazing husband, father, son, Dave enjoyed many things in life, Dave was an avid Michigan fan, who was rarely seen without his blue and yellow. He could often be found on the golf course at Erie Shores trying to get a round in before dark, after spending his day volunteering his time there. In recent years, he was involved with coaching J.V. volleyball at the Spire. David was also a girls softball coach for many years. He was a coach at Madison High School as well as a summer travel softball coach. He was more than just a coach to his teams, he was a mentor. Teaching them how to play the game was important to him, but it was just as important to instill in them good values, and how to be a good responsible person. He was such a selfless individual that it was almost unknown that he, himself ailed from Cystic Fibrosis. His greatest passion in life was time spent with his granddaughter, Peyton.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Head; daughter, Melanie Dodge; granddaughter, Peyton, mother, Sandy Head; sister, Traci Kitinoja; brother, Andrew (Crystal) Head; grandmother, Cynthia Leininger; nieces and nephew, Caleb, Reis & Trinity. He was preceded in death by his father, David E. Head and aunts Bobby & Cindy Leininger.
